Taste the Truth set up shop at the World Café Live on Monday evening for the José González show. After dodging some fierce table-location competition from a nearby group of volunteers, we hung our banner and started pouring.

Maybe there’s just something about fans of Swedish folk music, but this was a particularly impressive bunch of taste testers. They used phrases like “grainy aftertaste” and “pro-active,” and even paused to smell the stuff before swigging. Woah. As might be expected from a group of expert tasters, Pravda beat the pants off of Belvedere and Absolut. Seriously, we almost felt bad for the bad guys this time.

Due to phone issues, we recorded the comments and test results by hand. We might hire a group of voice actors – a.k.a. our computer programmers – to re-create the audio, but we’re not sure how good their falsettos are...

It's Polish vodka, but they it's spelled wrong (prawda). Is truth by any other spelling just as true? This is workingperson's vodka and belongs in the ranks of Smirnoff and Absolut. But not amidst refined arisen varieties such as Chopin and Ketel One.
